History of the Castle
:
There was a castle in Chambord - undoubtedly a fortress
before 1518, property of the Counts De Blois. King François
1st (1515-1547) adored the place and decided to make there
build a sumptuous residence as from 1519. The most prestigious
architects considered this project, the first of which famous
Leonardo de Vinci. The pharaonic construction site begins
with the construction of the central part called "donjon".
In an astonishing paradox, whereas its treasure was permanently
dry, the expensive sovereign hardly haggled over the expenditure
when it was a question of embellishing Chambord. He thought
even a moment of diverting the course of the Loire (with
four kilometres from there!) To bring water to the foot
of its stone dream. Undoubtedly dissuaded by his engineers,
one was satisfied to deviate one of his small affluent,
nearer and less capricious: Cosson. Work continued during
all the reign of the prince to the salamander. They were
stopped only in 1524 and 1525, His son Henri II continued
paternal work, but the castle of Chambord was never completed.
The palate passed then with hands in hands to the liking
of the royal will. Louis XV his father-in-law Stanislas
Leszcynski Chambord was last once mixed with the History
with our country after the French defeat with 1870-1871
successively granted it and the fall of the Second Worsens
the State repurchased Chambord and its field with the heirs
to the count Henri, in 1930.
