This activity
develops quickly. The shoed network, still strongly
cantered on Paris, is the subject of modernizations
permanently. Passenger traffic remains significant,
while the goods traffic decreases with the profit
of the road; the launching of the high-speed train
(TGV, 1981) contributed to bring the capital closer
to the large regional metropolises. The dense road
network and maintained well is not always adapted
to the number growing of the private cars or to the
size of the heavy lorries, in spite of the extension
of the network of motorways. The network of the inland
waterways, used for the transport of the very heavy
matters, is limited to the areas of North and the
Northeast; their gauge is often insufficient, and
the too many locks. The air traffic develops quickly:
