Periods of hunting :

The venery is open starting from September 15 to March 31, except for under ground venery which is completed in 15 january.To notice that the hunting of the badger can begin again from May 15 to September 15, on prefectoral authorization (decree). – Shooting: the periods of hunting, are fixed by each prefect in his department; the opening known as general can be preceded by an anticipated opening of hunting for "game of water".The prefect can define specific periods to each species, or most often to each group of species.
Starting from January 31, hunting of the migratory birds will be prohibited in France.After the release of the ministerial decree granting an exemption only for hunting the wood pigeon until February 10, the five federations of hunting of Aquitaine, an area which counts 150 000 hunters, were challenged by their menbers.The decree authorizing ten days of hunting for the woodcock was published only on Wednesday january 30.For all the other migrating ones, no exemption will be possible, in accordance with the Community legislation.
