La randonnée
:
The practice of this activity requires a little material.
For the feet, do not hesitate to go with ankle boots, of
good manufacture and solid. A Gore-Tex membrane (not to
make pub) is not imperative. Nevertheless avoid the tennis
shoes in the very broken grounds. In the vestimentary plan,
wear synthetic underclothing and not out of cotton. Indeed,
this last collects perspiration, but does not evacuate it.
The feeling of being wet remains all the day... Carry a
wind-breaker in case of mistral.
The losses of heat, especially in winter, with a good mistral
can be important. For the bottom, rather a light trousers,
facilitating the movements (stretch still better) are enough
amply. As far as possible, go always a little undressed
to avoid an abundant perspiration and, in the event of pause,
the layers that are not used will make it possible to maintain
the body at a correct temperature. Apart from the winter
periods, it is rather a T-shirt of rigour and cap!!! Of
course carry water, of what to feed you, a first-aid kit,
IGN card. Generally, avoid carrying 50kg on your shoulders.
Ah, I forgot, for the back bag, ideal capacity is of approximately
25litres for a rando at the day).
Hiking in Province
:
The area comprises some specificities in terms of sporting
practice. Who says south, says sun and thus heat. From May,
the weather can be very hot, leave to fresh if you can do
it. On the other hand it should be known that starting from
the first weekend of July to the second of September, it
is prohibited by prefectoral decree to penetrate in the
the forest massifs of Bouches-du-Rhônes (900Frs by
head). This prohibition is partial in the Var (valid in high
wind conditions, to get information of weather conditions)
and non-existent in Vaucluse. All that is certainly debatable
but at all events it is like that!! In all the cases, it
is necessary to get information because this regulation
has a tendency to soften years by years.
Of course any fire is prohibited (cigarettes included).
Be careful because the drills are fragile and every year
the area regrets many fires resulting in the death of firemen
sometimes. Do not forget to bring back all your rubbishes
to the house and do not leave anything behind you.
