The WINE TRAIL Of ALSACE
One of the oldest wine trails in France celebrates its
50 years in 2003. Into fifty years many things changed in
the Alsatian vineyard... but not the main thing!
Each 170 km of the Wine trail invites you to approach an
area where the life is an art. At the first glance, the
Wine trail of Alsace offers a true postal card image: dapper
grapevines climbing with the assault of the Vosgean forests,
ruins of proud castles of the Middle age, villages with
the old ramparts which protect nothing but the happiness
of the flowered alleys, the accessible winstubs, vaults
in feast, but also of the secular residences, the Roman
churches or of the fountains generously bequeathed by the
Rebirth.
For all these unforgettable images, the Wine trail of Alsace
deserves your visit. But it is only to the curious traveller,
leaving the beaten paths, which it will reveal its most
secret turnings. From the Door of Marlenheim to that of
Thann, take time to discover the heart of the Road: meet
the vine growers, taste their wines, let youself lost in
the streets of the medieval cities then, far from the multitude,
traverse the wine paths and admire, in the vines perched
high, the panorama which will belong only to you the time
of a pause. Lastly, let you surprise, with each stage, by
the art of Alsatian living and its culinary creativity which
makes of Alsace, with the complicity of its wines, one of
the gluttonous areas of France!
WINE PATHS :
To the discovery of the vineyard, out of the beaten paths.
Giving up one moment the charms of the Wine Road, plunge
in the heart of the vineyard by traversing one or the other

attempts to reveal the work of the vine grower, the art
of the wine of Alsace and the characteristics specific to
each type of vine. During two hours of walk at most, each
wine path opens on Alsace the colors, savours, and supports
a rich contact with the personality of the vine growers
who animate them. Tastings to the support! Discover the
