THE THOT
The animals in the Park, recall species living
in wild state in our regions during- the Superior Palaeolithic
and for some, represented extensively in the art - of the
living animals as reindeers, bisons of Europe, aurochses ",
horses of Przewalski, horses tarponses, ibexes, and deer -
extinct species reconstitutions, as the mammoth or the woolly
" rhinoceros ".
The museum presents a large panorama of the franco-cuntabrique
art: techniques, themes, the lighting, the approach of the
underground, its exploitation by the man... Two educational
spaces are accessible on booking. The «parietal «art
module proposes to initiate to prehistoric artist techniques
with the help of natural stains on a support replicating a
rocky partition. The «module of excavations " permits
to simulate an archaeological sense of wonder in the foot
of one under-rock shelter and to understand, through the reading
of a stratigraphic cut, the principle of layer stacking during
the time. Otherwise, a movie and an exhibition present different
stages of the realization of LASCAUX II. The permanent evolution
of manufacture techniques of the jib-similés is illustrated
by 4 major panels not reproduced in LASCAUX II: " Stage
of the well ", " frieze of Deer ", " Cow,
crotchet and frieze of horses "," back to back bisons".

currently while presenting it to the big public
Reconstitutions of stages of the prehistoric daily life are
also visible. This Center is to discover in priority, because
it prepares to the visit of many prehistoric sites of the
Périgord.
