A REMARKABLE SITE
From the heights of Guéthary, the panorama is unforgettable: bow of the ocean which extends from infinite sands of the landanian Coast to the cape of the Spanish Basque Country: soft foothills of the neighbourhood countryside and the line of the Pyrenees that are very close crowned to snow in winter when the mimosas embalm Guéthary.

THE PORT
Between Arotzen Costa and Parlementia, a natural fairway brings to a small very protected shackle, dry harbour where the fishermen hoist their boats in top of the hold to put them safe from sea. Formerly, the fishermen drove out the whale in front of Guéthary. One watched their passage from the top of the small semaphore -headlight which dominates the beach of Parlementia.

THE TERRACE OF TAMARIS
The whales disappeared since a long time but in the shade of the tamaris there is the terrace to contemplate the eternal spectacle of the sea and sky

"HERRIKO ETXEA", the HOUSE OF VILLAGE
At Guéthary, the town hall with the beautiful neo Basque style, borders the pediment. The plays of ball, the songs, dances and traditional festivals animate it throughout the year.

SAINT-NICOLAS CHURCH
the terraces of the cemetery surround this building of XVIth century. With its covered porch and its bell-tower-pediment, it presents a sober and massive aspect which contrasts with the interior richness. The so particular provision of the Basque churches is found in Guéthary, with the chorus and altar largely elevated are dominated by galleries which surround the single nave.
