SO ATTRACTIVE! MARMANDE
It is very likelythat the Sarrazians, when they invaded Aquitaine in the VIIIth century, destroy the Gallo-Roman Castrum in the place of which they built a castle and a village. At the medieval time, this fortress castle was called "Mirmande", the village becomes a true city thereafter... Until being, today, the pride of the 18 000 inhabitants of Marmande.

A GREAT PAST!
In 1182, Richard Coeur de Lion, son of Henri II and Aliénor, offers to Marmande its "charter of Habits". Our-injury of Marmande will be built after the Albigensian Crusade. The plague, the wars of religion, the fires and the competitions between the Kingdom of France and England will not have ceased to torment its inhabitants and the city ithat is so coveted. In 1580, Henri IV will besiege Marmande and will rejoin it for always with the crown of FRANCE.

The "Coasts of Marmandais" are harvested since the Gallo-Roman time. Identified formerly like wines of the "high-Country of Bordeaux", the Coasts of Marmandais constitute today, with the cellars of Beaupuy and Cocumont, a Label of Controlled origin with whole share recognized for the richness of its specialities and its character.

SO HOSPITABLE!
Considerable number of Marmandais, faithful to their reputation, make reception a model of life. Many are the lodgings and rooms of hosts. Excellent hotels offer also a neat lodging and very emblematic of the quality of life in Marmandais.

Cultural events, sporting events, festivals and celebrations in all kinds: Marmande proposes an astonishing calendar of diversities. Secondhand fairs (all the months), the festival of the flowers and cutter (May), while passing by the night markets or the International grass-track (July), the marmandanian appointments are thought for all the ages and all passions.
