Three castles in only one village! And wild where sink three rivers, on horse in its rocky spur, that is the beauty of houses, Curemonte has the means to fascinate curious of history. With its church of the XIIth and its «noble» houses decorated with turrets and escutcheons, Curemonte has a strong charm.

COLLONGES ROUGES, A VILLAGE OUT OF THE TIME
All coloured by red, Collonges the red is unique. Constructed by monks in the XIIth century, it was fortified and becomes a stage on the paths of Santiago de Compostela.Its walls in red wills, its roofs of little flat stones, its little castles and its turrets are an enchantment of colours and serenity, that makes Collonges one of the most beautiful villages of France.

ARGENTAT, IN MEMOY OF THE BOATS OF ONCE
Lovée very close to the Dordogne, Argentat was during centuries a big center of trade. From its docks left the loaded boats of wood, leather and oil. Its embankments are still with old pavements and edged with old houses with turrets display proudly their face of once.

AN AMAZING DAM
With 85 meters of top and 300 meters of long... the dam of the Chastang forms one of the biggest restraints on the Dordogne and its production is one of the most important. A spectacular work in which the man put all his energy to tame the nature.

THE FORTRESS CIY OF THE LORDS MERLE
They were seven. Seven powerful Lords to reign on the city of Merle, dangerous citadel protected from the English attack by the river and the ravine. Lords left but Towers of Merle even in ruins, preserve their majesty.

REYGADES: STAKE TO THE TOMB
It was an unknown artist of the XVth century that is the author of the superb polychrome sculptures that the chapel of Reygades shelters: the Stake to the Tomb. This chief-d'œuvre stone is put in value by a spectacle son and an emotional light.

Abbeys marvels of the Roman art
In the Valley of the Dordogne, abbeys bloom. In Aubazine a community of monks lived in a self sufficient way. This Cistercian abbey with admirable volumes is the best preserved of the Limousin. Not far from it, we find vestiges of the monastery of Coyroux. The abbatial church of Beaulieu, with its famous eardrum is the most beautiful Roman church of Corrèze.Sacred sites not to miss.

THE STRAWBERRY ENTERS TO THE BOOK OF THE RECORD
In Beaulieu, the strawberry is a queen, to such point that one made a giant strawberries pie, at the Feast of the Strawberry: 8 meters of diameter, 330 kilograms of dough and 800 kilograms of strawberries! It is the biggest of the world.
THE WINE OF BRANCEILLES, THE CORREZE IN BOTTLES
The «Mile et Une Pierre ", what pretty name for a wine of the soil! Descended three vines (Gamay, Merlot Cabernet Franc), it is a fruity wine with the wooded notes when it was getting old in stocks of oak. Pink coloured, it preserves all its original aromas; red, it possesses a subtle perfume of mature. A wine full of promises, the only of Corrèze and even of Limousin having won an appellation.

The legend of the shepherdess's jump
In the throats of the Coiroux, a rocky spur overhanging the torrent carries very strange marks: it is a shepherdess's countries that, once was said, hurried of the top of the rock to escape a too enterprising ladies' man. It appears that her virtue and her life were saved!

EMBRACE THE LANDSCAPE FROM THE PUY D ARNAC
From the top of the Puy of Arnac, last chalky hill before tray Limousin, the panorama is magnificent. On the steep slopes surrounding the valleys, orchards and grapevines stuff themselves of sun, while far from there stand out the elegant medieval towers of Turenne and Curemontes.
