COUNTRY OF RIOM LIMAGNE

The country of Riom-Limagne placed just a step from Vulcania and of the regional park of the Volcanoes of Auvergne, cultivates the art of the variety and contrasts. It stretches between fertile fields, of green valleys , of sinuous throats then sets of the height. THE EARTH OF VINE GROWER
The ton
Called also chabanne, chibotte or touno, the ton is a typical wine protection of Limagne where the wine grower protects himself from bad weather, rests himself after the cut, takes a snatch and stores his tools. Generally implanted in the middle of the little piece to reduce movements of the wine grower, the ton is of simple invoice: square plan and roof in two pieces. Some are more evolved with a concern of the aesthetics and the addition of architectural elements as girders, corbelled constructions, and ledges. Because of fast communications and for lack of conversation, it tends to disappear.
Artonne
Typical wine grower Village who abounds in numerous characteristic elements of the architecture vine grower. The vineyard became a marginal activity in Artonne, however the municipality wished to highlight this patrimony with a natural site of discovery of the environment of the vineyard: the Hillside of Holy Puy Jean who dominates the village.
Enval
The Envalois vineyard is very ancient. In spite of the appearance of the phyloxéra and the evolution of the tastes of the clientele which begin the slow disappearance of the vineyard, wine activity stays still in 1952, the first economical resource of the municipality. Today, the exploitation of vineyards recovers from a secondary activity with exclusively domestic vocation.

Saint-Bonnet-Près-Riom
Placed in what is called " the country of Brayaud ", Saint-Bonnet-Près-Riom enjoys a reputation of a wine grower village for centuries. Following a first regrouping of lands in 1972 made on Riom, the first vineyards of the new generation become established. In ten years the surface of vineyards tripled. In 1988, the City of Riom gives on its own grounds with an agreement lease to two wine growers from Saint - Bonnet.
