Chalon-Saône
Chalon-sur-saône is a very active cultural
and economical centre with its river port created 250 before
JC by the éduens on the Saône, ideal stage for
the pleasure navigation.
By promenading in the old Chaton, from the court of the City
hall to the quays, by way of the Saint Vincent district and
the alleys of the Saint Laurent Island, you will appreciate
this " city of art and history " with the streets
of medieval character, animated by the professions of gastronomy,
antique dealers and the markets of Friday and Sunday.
In this city of the image, Nicéphore Niepce, inventor
of the photography, deliver us the evolution of the techniques
from the first darkroom to the camera which accompanied the
first steps of the man on the moon. The art of celebration
lives there and comes along with strong sensations thanks
to F1's world championship of motonautism, to balloons, to
the carnival which is the 2-nd of France and in the national
festival of the artists of the street.
Various nautical activities, whether it is athletic or of
relaxation, are practised going from the sail to the oar and
of course the fishing.
