A generous nature
The waves of oceans do not make a mistake there: that they choose a vast bay as that of Douarnenez, the sharp points of the Peninsula of Crozon, the beaches hemmed of dunes of Audierne's bay, all finish their long journey on our coast. Spectacle is then as high as their trip and it animates every second of our coasts, whereas in the wide rusty coloured sails of our old riggings promenade. Along the way, the swell will have caressed or beaten - its mood is changeable! - These spaces outside time that are our islands.

A tide Named Gulf Stream gets involved in it, the sea brings to them, besides its salt air in the powerful iodized flavour, the sweetness. So, on the island of Batz early vegetables and exotic vegetation take advantage of this exceptional climate under our latitudes. On the wings of the Wind, marine crows, gulls and other terns venture over low course of water valleys, valleys submerged by sea and natural wells, green fjords where the rivers are lazy before giving way to the ocean. In front of Atlantic tumult or of the silence of a natural harbour, the small ports of Finistere set a life full of heat, in the accents of the cheerfulness and shared feelings, under the friendly eye of the lighthouses which shell the coast.

Do not go to believe that life confines to the coast: it overflows widely in lands. Sometimes drawing its bed in the side of a cliff, such the Ellé, adopting the worrying peace of a swamp named Yeun Elez, taking off without history between the locks of the Canal of Nantes in Brest; the water runs or lingers but is source of abundance everywhere. Thanks to it, a wild fauna is found in Finisterre. Otters, minks, carps and roaches find there protection and food. The salmons find delight in the current and the trouts investigate a hole of water after another.
Forests? It is another history. A history in green and gold where mysteries rustle and rivers get lost , as in Huelgoat, dry Curvatures of lead, granitic spine of cliffs : Arrée's mountains and Black Mountains stretch out their balconies on vast spaces; when the mist does not weave there its set of legends, the sun offers to embrace there a wild, intact nature. There, a knight in armor can easzily appear.

Armorique's regional Natural reserve
Armorique's regional Natural reserve is a long strip which seems to cut Finistere in two while it is the backbone of it, the vital centre connecting the most exceptional of the natural spaces of the department: Arrée's mountains, Crozon's cliffs, Molène's archipelago, island of Ouessant. Some names of symbolic species are enough to evoke its wealth: salmon, grey, great seal dolphin, English puffin, ashed bird of prey, otter, and beaver give evidence of the incomparable wealth of the environment which shelter them.

Ride fervently
Ride fervently, much, a few, or passionately... between earth and sea Finistere has no border for who wants to taste the enjoyments of the equitation. A choice of brief or very long evasions, to learn or to progress. Instigation at first on this caste territory where protected nature offers, to whom knows how to court it, unforgettable feelings carried by universal man's best friend.
Working companion and companion of holidays in the past, the horse is always faithful in the meetings of our Forgiveness. It has its fairs and makes itself always beautiful part in agricultural meetings, festivals and competition of breeding. its is sometimes the star of our summery holidays, so majestic in front of a horse-drawn wagon with benches for a wedding or a parade, as hitched in the agricultural tools of the past, during demonstrations in the former way. Never forgotten, always honoured, here also horses and ponies invested the domain of sport and leisure activities: competition of show jumping, training, of suit, initiation into the TREC (Techniques of Equestrian ride of Competition) but also flutters, horse-ball and harness including for an evasion in caravan. A range which declines in the four places of Finistere with professionals, graduates of State for the greater part, with whom whether hardened riders or not can take reins in complete safety.
Others will prefer to keep foot on ground, and to taste other transport those of challenges launched on the horse races of country (Carhaix, Guerlesquin) on our Landivisiau's racecourses and Morlaix, or more exceptional, on the Plouescat's maritime racecourse. You are in search of adventure, of discovery, nature, open air, physical activity? Finistere, land of ride, waits you with for its thousand kilometres of paths and routes... everyone has his hobby!
