finistère
Figurehead of Brittany,
Finisterre counts among these regions in which one goes for
the desire and where one returns to the appeal of the heart.
Legendary as the city of Ys, powerful on its granite pedestal,
this thoroughbred land moves the passer-by, instigates the
thirst of discovery.
Soil and culture have permanently meeting with the sanctuaries
of the nature and the patrimony, the festivities of yesterday
and current. Emotion is your guide.
At the end of the world exists a land dressed by streams and
forests, lived by a real or legendary fauna, embroidered with
a plentiful vegetation, irrigated from the North to the South
and from the east to the west by ample rivers, decorated with
elegant monuments and loaded with history there. No doubt,
this Finistère
Well source of life, pleasures and the good to be.

LIGHTHOUSE OF BRITTANY
Natural harbour defender, low valleys of courses of water
covered by the sea encircled with mills, passionate estuaries,
sandy lengths, striking " ends of the world " (Raz,
Saint Mathieu), vertiginous cliffs, rocky horizons of hydrangeas:
Finisterre concentrates the vocabulary of the coast. there
is for all the tastes here from Locquirec to Pouldu, coastal
trip of more than 1000 km which crosses the road of legends,
indomitable peninsula of Crozon, the country bigouden, its
headgears and The Torche, the lands of the South, those of
Gauguin and the impressionists. Sailors' and farmers' Earth
who look proudly towards islands, from Batz to Glénan
passing among riggings, at paradise of future veils.
DESTINATION OF PLEASURES
One enters it as to a good book, or still, in the style of
an oenologist sampling a great vineyard, curious, attentive,
to be better seduced. Each one will find his pleasure. The
greatest department the West is too different not to be unique.
The blue of Armor, omnipresent, that of Mathurin Méheut,
is next, at some jumps of flea, to the inside emerald of Argoat,
as around the trembling cliff in Huelgoat. between the two,
nature
declines its colours of moors, heath and peat, around the
two internal massifs, Arrée's mountains and its bewitching
basin of Yeun Elez - that less than 50 km separate from the
exotic garden and from microclimate of the island of Batz
- the Black Mountains, on the other side of the luxuriant
valley of the Aulne, at the doors of Cornouaille.
This variety of soils is reflected in the food, as to refresh
the brave who would try to cover 4.700 km of coastal paths.
Specialities shape countries, the kig ha farz of the coast
of Legends, Camaret's coset , Plougastel's strawberries, Douarnenez's
kouign - mercy, the scampis of Guilvinec, Quimper's pancakes
- laces, Bélon's oysters, pancakes of Bridge - Aven,
Roscoff's onions, without mentioning Fouesnant's cider, Morlaix's
beer. It is the soil of the savours that incite to travel!
EARTH OF PRIDE
Country of traditions, Finistère is not an open museum.
Here nature breathes, culture sparkles in accord bagadou and
never identity showed itself with such spirit. One can not
grow tired of discovering feasts assembling ceaselessly renewed,
festival of Cornouaille in Quimper, blue
dribble feast in Concarneau, assemblings of old riggings,
On Thursdays in the port in Brest, Arts in the street in Morlaix,
Old Ploughs in Carhaix... Others will focus their attention
on the wealth of castles and manor houses (Trévarez,
Kerjean, Kernault) and abbeys (Daoulas, Relec). The devotion
of forgiveness, as in Saint - Anne la Palud, knocks as so
it has this power to sublimate the soul of religious monuments
of which the parochial enclosures are the most succeeded expression.
There is still there this Celtic mark, foundations of which
go back up to the Prehistory, these megaliths and dolmens,
which conjugate with the inheritance of the cities of the
Middle Age, these alleys, these houses with half-timberings.
Yes Finisterre is well the ultimate country, " head of
the world " as its Breton name underlines it : Penn ar

THE SUMMER, TO REFRESH
ONE’S SELF
" I return, in this centre of vocations of Brignogan
every year, because I am sure to find there all the ingredients
to make a success of our vocations . The sea, the dunes of
fine sand, the sunsets … The frame is magnificent and
one feels so near the nature! The children are happy. They
spend their day in the water, to play on the beach, to bathe
or to fish for shrimps. I rest myself, I enjoy landscape,
I take the sun, I forget everything! Atmosphere in the centre
is domestic and warm. We know one another a little, the children
find their friends from one year to the next. When urge takes
us, we participate to animations. Good moments are spent;
one gets acquainted with the newcomers. For me, it is really
ideal holidays ". Odile Cavarec, Calvados

withdraw but Ys is definitively gobbled up. Axe and Viviane
exchanges sweet secrets in the edge of an enchanted forest,

off in secret. Stivell shells the crystalline sounds of a
Celtic harp, Denez claims a caravanserai a year diskan, and
everywhere, Black Mountains in Aber Wrac a hour, of the Point
of Raz in Morlaix's bay, Finisterre lives, sings and dances,
grants its steps at the rate of the bell-ringers and parade
majestically in a spectacular of colours...
