THE BEACHES
One can discover them
FROM FIELD OF THE BANK, located at 500 m from the basilica.
It is a beautiful walk. And from the Martyrdom, the sight
is splendid. On the right side, the bay and the port of Pempoull,
the park of Kernévez whose high trees are reflected
in a small pond and the calm water of "Petit Nice".
Further extends the beach of Kerigou, with its vault that
is nested in a handle of trees. Opposite, there is a luminous
staging of Carantec, the Castle of the Bull: defense fort
ordered by the morlaisians, then prison of State, it sheltered
Chalotais and the revolutionist Blanqui. Ïle Callot ,with
its secular vault, is endowed with splendid beaches. On the
left side there is the beach of Pempoull and dam of protection.
The Sainte-Anne beach is te most attended: it is endowed with
a field of bowls and is supervised by the C.R.S. which, amongst
other things, give courses of swimming. In the extremity of
Groue is located the Nautical Center. The Sainte-Anne small
island is a pleasant place, dominated by a rock with the curious
name of Couëtte de Plume (Couëtte is a vulgar name
of the gull). Te Breton name being more significant: Roc'
H ar Ged,that is the Rock of Guet... On the left, point of
Kleger and private camp-site; Shore of Man and private camp-site
in Trologot; the most beautiful beach of Kersaliou precedes
the rocks of Krec' H an Drez, Penn-Prat, the Beron point,
while farther extends the deep water port.
All these beaches constitute privileged places for fishing
on foot. There is much diversity there: shrimps, crabs, winkles,
and hulls abound there. Moreover the shelter of a rock or
a hole of water reserve other surprises.
