By its tormented history, the Country of the Doors of Brittany inherited beautiful medieval cities with defensive fortresses and old districts. In Vitré, Guerche-of-Brittany or Châteaugiron still remain the houses with wood sides and porch. The fishermen will tease the roach on the numerous rivers, in the water stretches of Valière, Cantache, Carcraon or on the banks of the ponds of Châtillon-en-Vendelais, Marcillé-Robert and Martigné-Ferchaud, that are classified as departmental ornithological reserves. The hikers will appreciate the routes of great excursion and the several points of view which are offered to them.
