Multiple forests where the real and imaginary, or the history and the tales, nature and fairyhood, archaeology and the legend send back themselves the same pictures, and haunt the same places. Being a forest sanctuary at the time of the Celts, Brocéliande preserves its charm.

Brocéliande is initially a forest, the Forest of Paimpont, with its red schist foundations, , its megaliths, its springs, its brooks and its ponds, its trees, of which some are multicentenaires, its gorses, its brooms and its heathers, its extraordinary landscapes of mystery, that are funded of the dream of the men. Notched in the red schist, the val sans Retour mislays sometimes the visitor in the network of its valleys. If the deep water of Comper is addressed to Viviane for whom Merlin builds a marvellous crystal palace, this violent Valley is appropriate for Morgane, half-sister of King Arthur, who locked up the inaccurate lovers there, captive of an invisible wall of air.
It is this forest which has Barenton, the fountain which, in accordance toh the legend, "boils while being cold" and which is able to start the storms. It is there that Merlin met Viviane. He will choose to to be locked up by his beloved in Brocéliande and to live, invisible but present there, in the communion of the trees, the animals and stars.
Present behind a tree, ferns or the streaming of water, he guides the steps of those who venture in this forest. Viviane withdrew the Enchanter in the world of humans but will offer Lancelot to him that will join the knights of the Round Table. Other characters coming fromthe legends found a place in this forest. Through their adventures that are intermingled with the arthurian universe, they will make dream the walkers in search of the imaginary....

LEGENDS
In the val sans Retour(valley of no return) , the red rocks and the deep water are reserved for Morgane. Barenton, in the center of the wood and the soul and antiquity of the legend, keeps the echo of the steps of the druids and the gallop of the black knight and the incantations of Merlin.
It is told that, in front of the old red fortress, the white silhouette of Viviane, in her crystal castle, takes care in the depths of Grand Etrang, and perhaps awaits the return of Lancelot. Eternal revival of the legend, Graal radiates finally in Brocéliande, at the walls of the church of Tréhorenteuc which dedicated to it the Gillard abbot.

Mytical forest of the arthurian legends: Merlin the Enchanter bewitched by the Fairy Viviane, Escalibur, the unfaithful lovers captive of the val sans Retour (valley of no return)... In Bécherel, "City of the Book", many craftsmen devote themselves to this art (bookbinders, calligraphers, secondhand booksellers) and organize several events around this topic.
