FLOWERED CITY :
Snuggled up in the borders of the antique forest of
Brocéliande, PLOËRMEL occupies a privileged geographical
position. Old City of the Dukes of Brittany,
PLOËRMEL will charmyou as much by the charm of its landscapes
of greenery as by its old stones and testimonys with which
they are loaded. Indeed,The old city preserves, beautiful
prints of its rich past, in particular the vestiges of its
fortifications, the architectural beauty of the cloister of
the Carmelite friars (X111th) and the elegance of the Blue
Vault Sainte-Marie of the Carmelite friars (XIXth). The Visit
is possible everyday in July, August and September from 10
am to 12 pm and 15 pm to 18pm. In the old closed city, the
small lanes bordered of beautiful residences (House of Marmousets
1586, Old Hotel of the Dukes of Brittany-1150, Bigarré
House XVIth), true testimony of the glorious past of the city,
converge towards the superb Northern Gate (magnificiently
worked) of the Church St Armel built in the XVIth century.
Classified Historic building in 1982, The astronomical Clock
(850 -1855) presents a whole of ten dials and a planetary
system of a very great scientific interest. In proximity,
two museums will allure te greatest impassioned persons (Natural
science - Jean-Marie de La Mennais). Visits are available
all the year.
On the edges of Lac au Ducthere is a stretch of water of 250
ha which is one of the most important of Brittany. The circuit
of Hydrangeas is a arboretum gathering some 400 different
varieties on a course walk of 3 km and on a inner loop of
800m. There are more than 2000 hydrangeas which flower between
May and the end of October.
Free and permanent access.
One of our most charming megalithic sites is the Shady Walk
of the Bouquet City that overhangs the confluence of two rivers:
Yvel and Ninian.
Bouquet city, downwards of a picturesque rocky block field,
you will discover a shady walk. With 7 meters of length, this
monument, old of 4000-4500 years, is probably incomplete.
It was in the beginning a beautiful dolmen with corridor under
tumulus, making it possible to cover with the trunks or the
tombs. Nearby, a rock outcrop has surely provided the materials
of its construction. Young and sporting city, PLOËRMEL
also has many... ` cultural activities. Moreover,the fertile

Monterrein
Monterrein offers to the curiosity of the visitor in addition
to the harmony of its Church of St Malo of XIIth , XVIIth
and XXth centuries with a beautiful Saint Trinidad made of
alabaster that dates back to the XVth century as well as innumerable
menhirs of which the Long Rock, the Frog, the Stopper rod,
the Spindle and the Balance but also several crosses including
two old (of the Yew and High Key).
Lastly, the Castle of the High Key, built during the second
half of the XVlllth century in the shape of “HOME OF
PLEASURE” that is a vast home of pleasure, invites you
to come to discover the historical past of the commune.
LOYAT
It is a commune where it is good to live at the edge of water
in calmness and serenity will know to welcome and charm you.
You can let yourself be guided at the edge of Yvel, rocked
with the soft sound water. But also, by traversing its countryside,
you will discover its crosses, vaults and fountains as well
as its castle and its old bridge. sportiest, you will be able
to discover the joys of the ULM and gliding. While going down
again the airfield, you will find on your way the Fountain
of the Wizards, and perhaps will you meet korrigans(female
fairy).
LOYAT also has two restaurants, as well as
various nearby trade : bakery, butcheries, grocers. But also,
a camp-site which will enable you to remain longer in the
country of "wizards"
CAMPENEAC
Associated to the legends of the Round Table, Campénéac
is an impregnated ground of mysticism. Of
an elegant architecture, the Castle of Trécesson of
XVth century, built with the local red schist, is reflected
in its pond and has the tragic memory of this bride that was
buried alive on the foot of its walls. In the center of the
moors, the Saint Jean vault, old hermitage, preserves the
memory of Hospitallers and the processions at the springs.
On the hillocks of Tiot, the Tomb of the Giant offers a beautiful
example of a Neolithic unit that was transformed at the Age
of Bronze. The Abbey of La Joie Notre-Dame, very recent Cistercian
abbey (953) proposes a diaporama on the monastic life and
welcomes those who want to discover the life of the community
or to join the prayer. Many artisanal manufacture: chocolates,
biscuits, gingerbread, fruits of the orchard, and wooden objects
are very appreciated.
Taupont
It is a small rural City located near PLOËRMEL.
You will appreciate its calm and resting environment: its
