ALTA ROCCA

ALTA ROCCA, A STROLL IN THE FOREST OF TIME
THe sites of Cucuruzzu and Capula
A walk on a path bordered of stones, and shaded of oaks brings you to the remarkable monumental complex of Cucuruzzu dating back to the middle of the thousand-year-old before J.C. Inside Castellu, are cabins intended for the artisanal activities, diverticulums for the storage of the food products, the cups used for the crushing of cereals. This site, occupied in the bronze age and the iron age, is classified as a historic building. In the prolongation of this visit, Castellu de Capula restores a part of the marvellous medieval history of Alta Rocca
The Museum of prehistory in Levie
The exhibited collections present varied objects relating to the ways of life and the techniques from the preneolithic age (VIl th, millenium before J.C.) until the Middle Ages. One also finds there the single human preneolithic vestige (6570 before J.C.) that isupdated in Corsica and discovered close to Bonifacio: "the lady of Bonifacio"

A DREAMT GROUND FOR THE AMATEURS OF NATURE AND DISCOVERY
Between the softness of the coast and the mystery of the villages of mountain, taste all the pleasures which this exceptional and generous nature offers to you. Here, it is understood that the soul of Corsica is in the mountain. A green and wooded nature invites you to superb walks in sites that will cut the breath.
A preserved nature...
To discover Alta Rocca, the Regional Natural reserve of Corsica arranged in the southernmost part a pedestrian crossing which connects Porto-Vecchio to Propriano; this path of middle mountains, named "Mare to southern Mare" is accessible by all. It crosses the main villages of Alta Rocca, where lodgings were arranged for the hikers
