val d'or - sologne
Bouzy the Forest
Between the forest and the river of Saint Laurent, this
peaceful village of 878 inhabitants has many ponds of which
the largest and picturesque, has in its center a surmounted
small island of the tomb of Joseph Vion,
who is a former dismissed reverend as well as that of his
partner Emilie Gaigne. If the thermal baths and the amphitheatre
–like valley in the horseshoe shape of the Gallo-Roman
time do not exist nowadays any more, the church of Saint Martin,
afterwards many restorations and transformations, crossed
the centuries to reach our time. Out of the Castle of Sauvée,
property of the famous editor Louis Hachette who recieved
the king Philippe there. it remains nothing any more but the
outbuildingsand the old brickyard. But today, in fact the
benedictines of Notre Dame du Calvaire have just settled close
to the "Ebullient Fountain" in a new bright monastery
where they perpetuate the manufacture and the marketing of
the Emerald Water, lotion to the healing virtues of which
they hold the secrecy since the XVIIth century.
Bray en Val
In the crossroads of important ways connecting Paris to Bourges
and Orleans to Nevers, this welcoming borough, of 1057 inhabitants,
is located between Loire and forest. One can admire there
its church of the XIXth century as well as the Fountain and
the Statue of Saint Radegonde. Bray en Val makes it possible
to furrow the Valley thanks to its several country lanes,
and offers pleasant walks in forest, on foot, by bicycle or
on horseback thanks to its riding school.
Cerdon du Loiret
Country of the springs and the brooks, country of forest and
game, Cerdon is an authentic village of Sologne. Come to traverse
Cerdon, while walking in its small streets bordered of houses
that have a very characteristic architecture. Visit Sainte-Marguerite
church dating back to the 13th century. Take
one of the many footpaths which start from Cerdon and discover
preserved nature. As you come back to the borough, benefit
from the multiple trades (coffees, grocers, bakeries, butcher's
and pork butcher's shops, wines...) and taste their specialities.
Appreciate in Cerdon the user-friendliness of an alive village,
with human size, and endowed with all the conveniences (pharmacy,
doctor, taxi, hardware store, kinesitherapist, garages, fuels...)
You will be able to make stage inthe communal lodging arranged
in the old station of Sologne.
It will be possible for you to be devoted to your preferred
leisures in Cerdon: fishing, hunting, walk, sport (tennis,
game of bowls, VTT...) and in the pond of puits that is so
close, with all the nautical activities which you wish (bathe,
sailing, water skiing...).
Combreux
Along the Channel of Orleans,
the 205 inhabitants of Combreux live peacefully amid the Forest
of Orleans. After the two inns, close to the bridge, an elegant
castle is reflected in the ditches. If it is not visited,
the whole with its park and its outbuildings is perfectly
visible from the road. To some steps from there, the Pond
of the Valley is a true estival pole of the Forest of Orleans.
This site of great touristic attraction with its 71 hectares,
offers all the pleasures of water: bathe, pedal boats, sailboards...
and walks in the forest. Close to the base of leisures, the
camp-site * * * proposes all the services, and the plays for
children and a miniature golf open to all the public.
Dampierre en Burly
Ancient Gallo-Roman city, old crossroads of the country of
Carnutes, of Senones and Eduens,
it is as in this place that one finds the cross indicating
the intersection between the Bishopric of Orleans, Sens and
Auxerre. In the wood of Biauche, in Dampierre en Burly, a
city located along the Roman way going from Orleans to Autun,
is the center of Gaule. It is thus an inecapable city which,
in spite of a strong development in particular related to
the establishment of the Nuclear Center of Production of Electricity
(C.N.PE.) always preserve its charm of yesteryear. Within
its flowered framework, it offers to the visitors the pond
of the borough where are reflected the old constructions and
the white houses which dominate it. Its old streets, its edges
of Loire and its numerous ponds in forest accentuate its attraction.
One should not forget the modern equipment which are the watery
center and the cultural and sportsman space that are so attended.
Donnery
Between Loire and the Forest of Orleans, Donnery is a stage
on the edge of the Channel of Orleans. From the lock, located
in the center of the village ,
the charm of a splendid linear of the channel is offered to
the sight of the walker. To two steps, the lock house became
lodging of stage while the garden of Wiesenbach invites to
the picnic. The church of Saint Etienne, a historic building
with the chancel of XIIIth century, is located on the village
square, that is a starting point for the numerous ways which
furrow the surrounding countryside, whose agricultural and
forest landscapes were preserved for the pleasure of the hiker.
The Golf of Donnery contains 18 holes and has the reputation
to be one of the most interesting of the area. Donnery, it
is also: the Flowered Corso of the Pentecost, fishing, the
canoeing, VTT, the rural lodgings and the rooms of hosts,
the restaurants and the trades. Donnery; quality of life...
