Country of the three borders: cradle of Europe

At the point of meeting of France, Luxembourg and Germany, the Country of the Three Borders is an area where the history of Europe is told, from Charlemagne to Robert Schuman. With its valley of Moselle, its vineyards, its forests, its industrial past, its fortifications, its castles, its picturesque villages, the Country of the Three Borders will offer to the visitor one of the richest inheritance worked by the history and the geography.

At the Country of the Three Borders, the Way of Moselle projects the visitor in a picturesque landscape bordering the meanders of a river which, of its turfed banks, greets slopes and vineyards, mysterious forests and harmonious small valleys, small country churches and nicely carved martyrdoms. By taking the perfectly arrow courses of the Way of Moselle, hikers, touring cyclists or riders will discover a preserved nature,and a true harbour of relaxation enamelled of architectural curiosities and historic sites. In this green universe, the gastronomy is in the center of many feasts and festivals which can renew,, in estival period, with the traditions.
On each side of the Way of Moselle, the opening of the borders for a long time installed a climate of frank fraternity between the neighbouring people. Symbol of this harmonious cohabitation: Schengen, whose agreements of the same name decided, on June 14, June 1985, and 19 1990, the freedom of movement of the men inside European space.
